Some projects are special. They challenge us, push us to our limits—and ultimately make us all the more proud of the result. That was exactly how it was with our commission for Micasa x SULA .
The mission: Art meets light
The renowned Swiss furniture brand Micasa , in collaboration with up-and-coming designer SULA, presented its new SOLE collection – a colorful, creative interior design concept. And where creativity, design, and atmosphere are required, Neonwerk is a must.
The challenge: A unique neon setup for Milan Design Week. We weren't just supposed to deliver a classic sign—it was about creating a work of art that blends with the collection and fills the space with light and color.
The path to perfect installation
It quickly became clear: We needed more than just a standard neon sign. We developed a concept featuring meter-long neon tubes suspended from the ceiling , gently shimmering in various colors to perfectly complement SULA's designs. The luminosity of the neon tubes should not only serve an aesthetic function but also influence the overall ambience of the exhibition.
But this presented us and Micasa with a major challenge:
✅ Logistics: The neon had to be transported safely and installed perfectly in Milan.
✅ Custom-made: The tubes had to be manufactured with millimeter precision in order to harmonize with the design pieces.
✅ Technology & Installation: Such a large installation with illuminated tubes, without visible wiring – a true masterpiece.
The implementation – precision & perfection
After weeks of planning, testing, and coordination with the Micasa team, the moment had come: Our neon shone above the SOLE collection , setting the perfect framework for the project.
The result? A stunning eye-catcher at Milan Design Week , where design lovers from all over the world gathered. Visitors were fascinated by the combination of light, color, and furniture art—exactly what we wanted to achieve with Micasa x SULA.
Our conclusion
This project was a real challenge for us, but also a huge success . It demonstrates once again how versatile neon can be—not just as lettering, but as an integral part of interior design, atmosphere, and art .
Thanks to Micasa and SULA for their trust – we look forward to many more creative projects!
